“I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
— Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
- Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time.
Ever wished you had a government job? Have you ever tried at least once and stopped because you thought you can't get it? Then you are the right one to read this. And I will prove that you are capable of attaining it.
Time is same for all. No one is given an extra second to prepare.
One of the basic principle we all should know is that time is equal for all. From the president of the United States to the poorest of the poor. Its all about how we are utilizing it. It is best utilized when we are investing this time to the one which our heart whispers to. According to Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do."
So that is the point. Strive hard to extract the best out of your time!
Memory is your problem? Its not!
Remembering a movie that you watched 2 years ago? Of course you will. Not only you, everyone will. So its not about your capacity of your memory or the ability to recollect it. Our memory is extremely large. For comparison, if your brain worked like a digital video recorder in a television, 2.5 petabytes would be enough to hold three million hours of TV shows. You would have to leave the TV running continuously for more than 300 years to use up all that storage, according to Scientific American.
So its something else which is making us running out of memory. And that is our attitude, that we have a memory problem and our area of interest. Make what you learn interesting. Compare what you study with what you love, real life situations etc... Heal your thought that you have a memory problem. Remember, the more you fire your neurons, the more sharp it will become. And its not a one day process. Its attained over time.
How to prepare?
You don't have to study everything. One of the misconception that most of the people have is that they need to study anything and everything. Just go through the syllabus and a coaching session (recommended).
So, every one is capable of getting a Government job. As the positions are limited there is a criteria to filter. The best prepared will go through. Always remember, Success is never an accident. Its the product of smart work over time. Its not an overnight process. Study for an hour a day. Double your learning and you’ll triple your success.
To conclude, a motivational quote of the international trainer from Robin Sharma: "Every master was once a beginner. Every professional was once an amateur". Keep this in your mind.
As Mother Teresa said, "Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."
All the best folks!
